About Travel Factor
Travel Factor was founded in 2006 when a group of young urban professionals realized the need for an organization dedicated to promoting and providing affordable trips for fellow city slickers and urbanites. From a humble beginning of small surf trips to San Juan, La Union, the same group has explored and is continuously combing the Philippines for alternative destinations. Today, Travel Factor (TF) has grown to be one the biggest adventure tour providers in the country.
Team Travel Factor is composed of travelers and entrepreneurs Leia Nagal, Michelle “Tikoy” Tan, Reg Mamaril and Cedric Valera.
TF takes pride in its current lineup of trips promoted in 5 categories: SURFVIVOR, PHOTOHOLIC, CONQUER, SNUBA and the Ultimate Beach Bumming Experience (UBBE).
The SURFVIVOR series is TF’s flagship and most popular brand, with its pioneering trips and group tours to La Union, the surfing capital of the north. Now, participants can join surf trips to Baler, Zambales, Bagasbas, Siargao and TF’s first international destination, Bali!
Travel and photography go hand in hand, and TF has realized this early on by introducing its now famed PHOTHOLIC Ilocos. A big hit among photographers and photography enthusiasts, TF now offers photo safaris to Zambales, Batanes, Sagada and soon Bicol and the Cordillera. Another new offering under the PHOTOHOLIC series is its workshops. Led by esteemed photographers, newbies can maximize their potential by learning basic digital photography, travel photography, documentary photography and even basic studio portraiture.
For adventure seekers and adrenaline junkies, TF’s CONQUER lineup cannot be more perfect. This 2009, TF will CONQUER mountain destinations, blazing the trails of Mt. Pinatubo and Mt. Pulag. For a different challenge, there’s spelunking in Sagada and Nueva Vizcaya or experience the ride of a lifetime whitewater rafting in Kalinga, CDO or Davao!
While the world above the water is much fun, being below it is virtually a different world. SNUBA is derived from two of the most popular underwater activities: snorkeling and scuba diving and Filipinos are lucky that the Philippines offers the world’s best playgrounds. This year’s lineup includes Donsol (Sorsogon), Apo Reef (Mindoro), Apo Island (Negros Oriental) and Coron (Palawan), among others. And for would-be-divers, TF is proud to announce that it will soon be offering open water licensing courses. Get ready to get wet!
What’s a better day than spending a lazy afternoon at a postcard-perfect beach? TF surely knows and has perfected the art of beach bumming. Choose from a wide array of prime beach destinations such as Calaguas Island (Camarines Norte), El Nido (Palawan), the Caramoan Peninsula (Camarines Sur), Bohol and Cebu, just to name a few. This IS the Ultimate Beach Bumming Experience a.k.a UBBE.
But what sets Travel Factor apart is that it goes the extra mile to provide its participants the ultimate travel experience. In fact, TF is often mistaken as a travel organization or a club because of the camaraderie fostered among its participants and organizers – the same participants who were once solo travelers themselves. Because of this, TF enjoys unprecedented customer loyalty and enthusiasm. Clearly, Travel Factor is not just an agency, it’s a lifestyle!
Affordable trips. Ultimate experiences.
